This serviced 1966 Seiko Skyliner Ref. 6222-8000 represents mid-1960s Japanese horology, embodying the sleek dress elegance and mechanical refinement of Seiko's celebrated manual-winding executive lineup. It is powered by the respected 21-jewel Caliber 6222 hand-wound movement, featuring Diashock shock protection, an efficient gear train architecture, and an integrated date mechanism. Following a full mechanical service, it operates with silky-smooth manual winding, stable balance amplitude, optimal efficiency, and crisp, dependable timekeeping.
The hallmark of this timepiece is its professionally restored ruby red sunburst dial, featuring an alluring vignette gradient finish that deepens toward the edges and accented by fine crosshair lines across the center. The layout is appointed with elegant cursive Seiko Skyliner typography, crisp printed "Waterproof Diashock 21 Jewels" script, faceted baton hour markers with a prominent double index at 12 o'clock, razor-sharp dauphine hands, a contrasting outer minute track, and a cleanly framed date window at 3 o'clock.
The 38mm stainless steel case preserves its sharp factory geometry, slim polished bezel, and gracefully contoured tapered lugs that sit comfortably and commandingly on the wrist. Conforming to its slender manual-wind profile, it is fitted with a clean replacement winding crown at 3 o'clock. While the dial has been expertly refinished in a rich crimson palette and fitted with a replacement crown, the watch retains its original factory case, crystal, handset, and 21-jewel manual caliber. It comes paired with a premium textured black leather strap.
An exceptionally stylish 1966 Seiko Skyliner reference combining reliable 21-jewel manual-wind engineering, an ultra-slim 38mm dress case silhouette, a distinctive crosshair vignette red dial layout, and classic mid-century dauphine hands.
