This serviced 1968 Seiko Lord Matic Ref. 5606-7000 represents late-1960s Japanese horology, embodying the foundational design language and mechanical sophistication of Seiko's premier executive dress line from its inaugural launch year. It is powered by the upgraded 25-jewel Caliber 5606 automatic movement from Suwa Seikosha, featuring manual winding, hacking seconds, and quickset day-date functionality. Following a full mechanical service, it operates with supreme precision, optimal efficiency, and flawless performance.
The hallmark of this timepiece is its factory-original silver sunburst dial, capturing light with sharp precision across its radiant surface. As an early first-year production model, it features the coveted printed Lord Matic / 25 Jewels typography with the Suwa factory insignia rather than the later applied LM emblem. The layout is appointed with an applied silver SEIKO logo, faceted baton hour markers with subtle black contrast inlays and a prominent double index at 12 o'clock, razor-sharp hands, and a framed bilingual English/Kanji day-date window at 3 o'clock.
The 36mm stainless steel monobloc case preserves its sharp factory geometry, brushed upper surfaces, polished bevels, and commanding Grammar of Design lug contours that sit comfortably on the wrist. The watch head remains 100% authentic and unaltered, retaining its original factory dial, hands, crystal, one-piece case, and crown. It comes paired with a newly fitted stainless steel multi-link bracelet.
An exceptionally desirable first-year 1968 Lord Matic reference combining the upgraded 25-jewel 56-series movement, rare early printed script dial typography, seamless monobloc case construction, and untouched factory-original integrity.
