This serviced 1970 Seiko 5 Actus SS Ref. 6106-7480 captures the bold, progressive design language of Seiko's Daini Seikosha facility in the early 1970s. It is powered by the high-spec 23-jewel Caliber 6106 automatic movement, featuring a hacking mechanism for precise time setting and a push-in quickset day-date complication. Freshly serviced, the movement operates with smooth, reliable efficiency.
The absolute focal point of this watch is its expertly restored, deep red dial. The rich crimson finish creates a dramatic backdrop for the heavy, double-applied block indices and sharp faceted hands. A framed calendar window at 3 o'clock houses a bilingual English/Kanji wheel, highlighting its authentic Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) heritage.
The 37mm stainless steel case retains its distinct retro-modern profile, sharp geometry, and signature flush-recessed crown at 4 o'clock. While the dial has been expertly refinished, the watch head maintains its original casing, glass, and crown architecture. It comes paired with a premium leather strap that complements its striking dial.
A vibrant and mechanically solid JDM timepiece, combining a high-jewel 6106 movement, iconic 1970s case lines, and a standout pop of red for any vintage collector.
